Frequently Asked Questions• When will the ITIL v2 courses be retired? o Removal of V2 certification exams will be complete by June 30, 2011. The retirement schedule is as follows: § V2 Foundation to cease June 30, 2010 § V2 Manager to cease August 31, 2010 § V2 Practitioner to cease December 31, 2010 § Foundation Bridge to cease December 31, 2010 § Manager Bridge to cease June 30, 2011 o Rewrites will be available for the retired exams until June 30, 2011 • Can I take the course offline (standalone) or online (web based)? o Our electronic courses are available both in an online version and as a standalone executable. The online version will work with any system that supports Flash (Mac, Linux, Windows) but the standalone executable version will only work on a PC. • How long will the courses continue to operate after purchasing? o The course will continue working for approximately one year after purchase, at which point the program will expire and will not launch anymore. Extensions to the courses are available upon request. • Is the course Mac compatible? o The online version of the course will work from any browser that supports Flash. The offline version (standalone CBT) only works when run from a PC. • Can I take the exam online? o Yes, all of the exams are available online. • How can I get an exam voucher to take the online exam? o Exam vouchers can be purchased from our online store at http://www.pultorakstore.com/servlet/the-Exam-Vouchers/Categories or they can be bought directly from Loyalist Certification Services here https://lcms.lcsexams.com/ (login profile must be created before you can pay for an exam voucher). • Can I get a Prometric / Pearson Vue voucher for exams? o Prometric and Pearson Vue offer Foundation exams at their locations worldwide. To obtain a voucher or schedule a session with either organization, visit their respective websites at: http://www.prometric.com/default.htm or http://www.pearsonvue.com/ • What restrictions are there in taking the exam in countries other than the US? o There are no restrictions on taking the exams regardless of location. • What is a proctor? o A proctor is someone who oversees and ensures that the participant taking the exam follows the instructions and that there are no abnormalities during the exam. • How do I arrange a proctor? o If taking the exam online, then you will provide the Exam Institute (Loyalist Certification Services) the name and email of the person who will proctor the exam. The Exam Institute will then contact the proctor directly and send them the information needed to login to the exam website and forms to fill out before and after the exam has been completed. o If you are taking the exam on paper, then a proctor will be arranged for you at an additional cost. • What restrictions are there in selecting a proctor? o The proctor can be a colleague as long as you don’t directly report to each other and they should not be related to you. • Where can the online exams be taken? o It should not be taken at a private residence and is usually done on an office computer or in a library. • What organizations are you accredited with? o We are accredited with Loyalist Certification Services, EXIN, and APMG. Our certifications are recognized by ISEB. • Where can I get sample exams? o Sample exams are provided in the course materials either as printed forms or as PDF files. • What is the point system for Expert Certification? o The point system for Expert Certification in the ITIL v3 certification path is achieved by accumulating points for each exam that is successfully taken.
